How to get rid of pet stains and odors.

Everyone loves having a pet..right? Those pets are going to have accidents, so that is where we come in.  Steam Team Carpet And Tile has solutions for you. First get rid of Fido, just kidding. So on to the serious part. Pet stains can ruin the look and smell of your house. The stains can go all the way into the carpet padding and subfloor. I will outline what you need to have done.

If you catch the animal doing his business, then quickly wipe up the mess and or blot up the urine, this may prevent it from working its way deeper. Warm water and a towl can work wonders intially. Then you need to move onto the products the pet stores sell. But use them sparingly…..a little goes along ways.

Next scenario is you don’t find it for several days. Again, some warm water and a towel to pick up the big stuff. It it is dried on, moisten it with the damp towel and slowly work at it. Don’t rub it in and make it worse. If it is urine, they make spotters that will help reduce the smell and buy you some time until you have your carpets professional steam cleaned.

So now you have the professionals coming out. Worst case scenario they are going to have to pull the carpets, padding and treat the sub-surface. There are treatments for both wood floors and concrete. They might have to replace the pad as well. The final step will be to steam clean the carpet.  Best case they may be able to saturate the spot with cleaner and use a water-claw to extract the cleaning solution.
